choo choo

Im feeling much better, so yesterday auntie jamie took me and the kiddies to the mall to play in the water fountain and ride the train. jenalyn wasnt too thrilled with the fountain but LOVED the train. eli sat with me at the "station" while the two took a ride.

tomorrow we'll be headed out to a double well visit. both little ones will be getting shots, so Im really hoping theres not too much crying going on. I'll let y'all know about their stats after the appt.
oh and heres to hoping for a short wait at cheesecake factory tonight ($1.50 a slice). yeah right - Im sure it'll be a good 2 hrs. perhaps we'll just peek in and then go out for some ice cream instead - thrifty's chocolate malted crunch, of course!

p.s. sorry no pic of my eli today - I'll get one soon.

mastitis!

ugh - this weekend I had a bout of mastitis. and if anyone has ever had it before, you know its tourcher!!!
I'm feeling much better now that Im on antibiotics and was able to rest a lot yesterday and today (thank you Dear for staying home and watching the kiddies). we did manage to go to a wedding before the mastitis set in and was able to get a family photo. other than that, there wasnt too much excitment this past weekend, unless you consider extreme pain, all over body aches, chills and fever, excitment (boo!)
we've got a busy week ahead of us - tomorrow a playdate, thursday double well-visits and this weekend our first family vacation. so here's hoping to feeling 100% very very soon!

sibling love

jenalyn is so loving towards her baby brother. anytime he cries, she's the first one to look towards him and say "baby". she'll go over to his bouncy seat and "bounce" him (sometimes too strong), she'll pat him or give him a toy. and even without asking she'll walk over and give him a kiss.
eli loves his big sis too. he likes to smile at her when they have "conversations". and he doesnt seem to mind her squeezing his feet, although I mind. she sometimes needs to be reminded of "gentle".
its been a quiet morning - just some camera time and lots of books and smiles to melt your heart.

finger painting and tummy time

today we decided to try out some tasty finger paint (got the idea from my mommy board - just use yogurt and food coloring). let the pictures tell the story...

nice and neat

"what are we doing w/ the highchair in the living room?"

"hmmm...interesting"

"oh I get it - it makes colors."

"blue, needs more blue!"

"wow, this is fun!"

"what if I mix 'em together."

"or I can just plop the whole thing down!"

"my hands look yucky."

"I think Im done."

"ta-da...my masterpiece!"

eli did more tummy time today and I must say he's getting stronger and stronger. look at him lifting his head. "keep practicing my eli, you're doing so well!"

a new chair and a new way to sleep

jenalyn finally has her very own big girl chair and doesn't have to resort to using baby eli's bouncy seat anymore (although she probably would if we let her). she finds it as a great spot to feed her bunny-bunny a bottle (of lotion), to read or just lounge. but it has also been a great climbing tool to get to the real sofa!

eli has been doing well with tummy time and has almost rolled over to his belly. he's half way there and likes to stay that way for sleep as well.

my 15th month old & my 3 1/2 month old

jenalyn is 15 months today - another milestone month in toddlerhood and continuing to be the "happy-happy" girl that she is. joseph elijah "eli" is 3 1/2 months and getting bigger every day. he's almost ready to make his first "flip". they are both the absolute joys in my life. God couldn't have blesssed me with anything better.
