a birthday came and went...

last week was my 30-something-th birthday and I didnt do a darn thing. ok so that was entirely my choice. morning sickness reared its ugly head for 2 weeks 24 hours a day 7 days of the week. all I did was lay on the couch and do nothing. and how sad for my kiddies, jenalyn even grabbed a blanket and kept giving it to me while I was laying there, I think she thought it was some sort of game to cover myself up with a blanket and lay there. (sad huh!)
we were suppose to go out for sushi (dont worry, I was only gonna get cooked stuff) but when my hubbie came home all I wanted to do was be stuck on the couch, so we ordered it as take-out. and as excited as I was to be eating sushi - I wasnt. I dont want to talk about it, but lets just say my tummy didnt like it.
but I did get great surprises - my dear came home with a birthday cake (which he accidentally dropped on the floor as soon as he came in, oh and he was so sad that he did that - but of course we ate it, I dont even like frosting anyway), balloons and a present (the gift was a bathtime bubble machine for the kids, only b/c he knows me so well as to get presents for the kids before me). and a beautiful bouquet of flowers from my family in TX. thanks!
oh and if you're wondering, I do feel better - hence why Im able to blog.

made some "magic mud" (cornstatch and water) eli thought it was cool (so did I!) jenalyn not so much!

the water table

trying to hit balloons with a cardboard tube (but I hung them too high, so jenalyn tried to reach them from the couch)

good ol' coloring (and a make-shift peg board for the markers)

Zing Zang Zoom!

last sunday we went to the Ringling Bros. Barnum and Bailey Circus "Zing Zang Zoom" in all honesty it was a nice show - but it also was "the LONGEST show on earth!" we had tickets to the 7:30pm and I thought, ok since the kids do go to bed late, no biggie, we'll be home by 9ish - ummm, the thing was almost 3 hrs. long! we got home right before 10pm!
the kiddies were excited about the animals, esp. the elephants! (and so we're we) but everything else in between was kinda boring for them. oh well, maybe when they're older, they'll find the crazy acrobats and tightrope walkers exciting. til then, enjoy these pachyderms!

putting with a new friend

last weekend we headed over to a birthday party, where the kids spent most of there time on the little putting green out back. now they weren't very interested in trying there hand in the game of golf, but they did find a new friend. and jenalyn instantly became his buddy.
she shared her golf balls and clubs with him. showed him where his head, eyes and nose was. and even gave him a hug for being such a good friend...

eli wasnt as interested in the new guy, but he did manage to swing the clug around a few times. perhaps it was in preparation for the pinata which he did get a few good hits in.
