humidifiers, booger suckers, antibiotics...

you get the picture - everyone is sick. its been a week now and I think everyone is getting better, but wow, as if changing diapers and feeding wasnt enough, now I have to add sucking out boogers and giving medicine to the list - but hey, its all apart of the joys of motherhood.
since we went to the pedi we got to check eli's weight - he gained almost a pound in 3 weeks, so its good that he's gaining - he is now on zyrtec for his eczema but I must say it is much better than when he first got it.
jenalyn is the one on antibiotics, and luckly it tastes good, so she drinks it like a champ! we just have to watch eli and make sure his cold doesnt turn into what his sis gots or else antibiotics for him too.
daddy is a little sick too - but airborn and coldeez seem to do the trick, as for me, just tired I guess...so perhaps I should take a nap...and yes I'll post pics of my little trick-or-treaters later...

the city pumpkin patch!

see, I told you we had a busy weekend...on sunday we went to the city pumpkin patch. we could've went to the real one on the same farm as the apples but after apple picking we were already tired and decided to just go to the parking lot pumpkin patch instead. we got a few good pics. eli was sleeping when we got there so we were only able to take a few of him. jenalyn was excited to see the pumpkins and said "wow!" as soon as we got there. although I think her favorite thing was the corn - she first used it as a broom, then as a phone.

apple picking!

yay, I have a tiny bit of time to post these. last weekend we went apple picking. we've never been before and quite honestly I didnt think its something we were able to do. we found an apple orchard farm about 45 min. away and off we went. grandma was in town visiting so she was able to join us for our apple picking adventure. (and we're so glad she was there or else we dont think we would have been able to take the two kiddies and pick apples and take pictures - thanks grandma!)enjoy!

happy 18 months jenalyn!

sorry baby I didnt post about your 18 month birthday. it was last friday and we had a wonderful visit from grandma. the whole weekend was very busy but very fun. and as soon as everyone falls asleep I can sneek on to the other computer and post all the fun pictures we took. but for now a belated happy year and a half birthday my baby girl! (I know shes not a baby anymore...)

eli update

just a quick update on eli and his eating habits in case you were wondering...he's getting in more solids a day, which we think he likes but as far as formula its kinda hit or miss. we have him on hypoallergenic formula (and my goodness, its a pretty penny!) because we suspect that he is allergic to the regular milk based stuff and he's so-so with soy (hopefully we can try that again later on down the road). we also noticed that he'll only drink it if its really warm, dont worry not hot, but nice and warm. we have noticed a weight gain so thats always good, we're even thinking that its time for the next size in diapers. he seems much happier, getting up less during the night and even getting stronger - jumping around in his jumperoo and sitting on his own. so yippee, so far so good!

6 shots total!

this morning was another double well visit for the kiddies. 4 shots for eli's six month well visit and 2 shots for jenalyn's 18 month well visit (one was a flu shot). overall they did great - just a cry at the prick of the needle and that was it. jenalyn is fine, she always doesnt seem to have any after effects of shots. eli, on the other hand, is just a tad bit grumpy. but he's taken some tylenol and seems fine for now.
heres their stats:

jenalyn - 23.6 lbs.
- 32 inches

eli - 14 lbs.
- 26 inches

I am a little distraught by eli's weight - according to an online growth chart, he is in the 5th percentile, which in rather low. I didnt expect him to be that low. the pedi said to just feed him more solids, which we will. so it looks like we're headed to the grocery store to stock up on baby food. jenalyn's weight has stayed the same since the last visit, but nothing to worry about. if you've seen the girl eat, you know sher can eat! and if you've seen her in action, you know she never sits still! so perhaps its that high metabolisim from her dad.
other than that both kiddies are doing fine. just a couple of pics while in the waiting room.
"and yes mommy didnt even comb my hair this morning!"

"wait a minute...isnt this the place that gave me shots last time?"

happy 1/2 year my eli...

gosh - how time does fly... my eli turned 1/2 a year yesterday and we celebrated with an at home "toy party" where all his animal and toy "friends" came to play.
