the next american idol...

today I decided to have karaoke day! my magic mic doesnt get much use now a days, but today seemed like a good day, plus coloring with markers was getting out of control since she was more interested in coloring her hands than paper.
ok so jenalyn was really just holding the mic while looking at the screen. I think she was just trying to find the right song to sing. she clapped and cheered when I took a shot at it - and in all the right places too, like at the beginning when I would sing the first couple of words and at the end when its over. (what a supportive daughter, even if it sounds horrible, she still claps!) and eli - well he's the show stopper...
waiting for the que

"ready for my close-up"

"come on, we can be like the donnie and marie!"

"I can work solo"

"Edelweiss, Edelweiss ..." - look he's sooo into it!!!

mega playdate at children's museum.

last sunday we took a trip to a children's museum and met up with some mommy friends for a mega playdate. the kiddies had so much fun! take a look...
jenalyn loved this cow!

she loved grocery shopping, she actually carried the fruit around the whole museum.

sunbathing through the old train window

me and my eli checking out the scary animals

apparently jenalyn was scolding the lion for looking so mean!

this is her "smile" look

he's becoming such a big boy!

this weekend we finally put eli in his convertable car seat. no more lugging around that baby carrier. I guess we tried to keep him in there as long as we could but he was getting too heavy and was beginning to get ansy in there. so now he gets to ride in the stroller like a big boy. we let him sit in his sister's spot in the stroller and it seems as though he's truly relaxing in there...

cute huh!? just love him lookin' all chillin' in there! feet up and everything.

oh and he did have his 9 mo. well visit. eli is still on the small side but the pedi isnt worried and neither am I (anymore). we're chalking it up as him being a small framed guy, like his mommy and daddy. he's drinks 35 oz. of formula a day plus three meals and Im starting snacks in between, so I know he's eating enough...just has that super fast metabolism. here's his stats:
17 lbs. 10 oz. (10th percentile)
27.5 in. (forgot the percentile, but Im hoping he'll grow tall like his uncles)

ok - and I did forget to post jenalyn's 21 month birthday! happy 21! that was last week. she's still a little ball of energy and I love her to bits. the two are beginning to play more with eachother and I cant wait to see what the next few months will bring, when I'll have a 1 year old and a 2year old on my hands...Im sure it'll be fun!

disney playhouse live!

we had recieved free tickets to watch disney playhouse live. we were not too sure how jenalyn would react since she really hates loud clapping and cheers, but she did enjoy it. for the most part we think she was just trying to figure out what she was seeing (we had nice box seats!). we brought along her minnie mouse doll which she got for Christmas hoping she noticed the big minnie on stage - she kept looking at her doll, then the one on stage. eli was quietly watching as well. It was very fun even with my dear's allergies this weekend. we hope to show the kiddies more disney stuff in preperation for disneyland in march.

just because I got a new camera...

for Christmas a got a wonderful surprise gift from my dear - a fancy shmancy camera (canon XSi) - so Im snap-happy with my new toy. Im still a rookie but hopefully I'll become a better at taking pics of the kiddos with more practice.

"oh mother dear, we very much fear.."

"that we have lost our mittens!"
one of jenalyn's favorite nursery rhymes - three little kitten - so today we colored mittens, just like the ones the kitten had. she colored green and pink ones, although to her the green ones are pink too (actually everything to her is pink - but who could blame her, everything in this apt. IS pink, right down to the pots and pans!). and she just loves those kittens. she gave each of them a kiss and did her infamous, "boo hoo" crying face because the "kittens lost their mittens" so cute, but so funny!
