6 shots total!

this morning was another double well visit for the kiddies. 4 shots for eli's six month well visit and 2 shots for jenalyn's 18 month well visit (one was a flu shot). overall they did great - just a cry at the prick of the needle and that was it. jenalyn is fine, she always doesnt seem to have any after effects of shots. eli, on the other hand, is just a tad bit grumpy. but he's taken some tylenol and seems fine for now.
heres their stats:

jenalyn - 23.6 lbs.
- 32 inches

eli - 14 lbs.
- 26 inches

I am a little distraught by eli's weight - according to an online growth chart, he is in the 5th percentile, which in rather low. I didnt expect him to be that low. the pedi said to just feed him more solids, which we will. so it looks like we're headed to the grocery store to stock up on baby food. jenalyn's weight has stayed the same since the last visit, but nothing to worry about. if you've seen the girl eat, you know sher can eat! and if you've seen her in action, you know she never sits still! so perhaps its that high metabolisim from her dad.
other than that both kiddies are doing fine. just a couple of pics while in the waiting room.
"and yes mommy didnt even comb my hair this morning!"

"wait a minute...isnt this the place that gave me shots last time?"

happy 1/2 year my eli...

gosh - how time does fly... my eli turned 1/2 a year yesterday and we celebrated with an at home "toy party" where all his animal and toy "friends" came to play.

bye-bye mullet!

after much debate on what to do with the mullet we decided to chop it off. yesterday jenalyn got her first real haircut (we're not counting the ones her daddy did during bathtime). as you can see she wasnt a fan, but she now sports a lovely bowl haircut. or should i call it a trendy "bob" cut?

reasons why the late updates...

so when i started this blog - I figured I had blog time since the kiddies would have a portion of their naps overlap. well apperently this is not the case anymore, so my blog time has diminished. today, Im lucky, they are both napping for now, and although i have a slight headache and would love to nap too, I must blog and preserve the memories of today before my kiddies turn 18!

my baby has a TOOTH!

I didnt even notice it was there - auntie sarah saw it first (thanks girl!). eli had been cranky at night for the past several weeks and we just figured he's just being cranky. but lo and behold - its probably from that pearly white trying to poke through. gosh - he's getting so big, so fast. oh how time flies. sorry no pics of the tooth (or at least the little top poking through) but enjoy these...

more talking and more rolling

jenalyn has had quite a vocabulary explosion (see list for new words, just this week). she really is picking up on words quickly and becoming very familiar with naming different objects. the best is when she mimics pictures from her books. she can be so dramatic sometimes - she does the "crying kittens" from 'the three little kittens'. she does the "sleepy head" from 'teddy bear teddy bear say good night'. oh but the best is her "sigh", complete with little fists on the cheeks - imitating 'cinderella saying,"I wish I could go to the party too."' Ive gotta get a picture of that one!

eli has been rolling more often now than before. I mean, he was doing it a couple of months back, but not as consistant as I was hoping. but now he's on a mission... although I do think he likes staying on his side the best, but with a little more practice I hope he'll realize that he's one more step closer to crawling!

new clothes & new toys

I got the cutest onesie and tee for jenalyn and eli from www.lovelucascreations.com (custom made from my mommy friend, go check 'em out - I love 'em!). I also had fun shopping at toys r us for new toys. lets see... what we got: melissa & doug nesting blocks, megablocks, new set of crayons and a baby alive. ok so the cashier asked if there was a birthday coming up...umm, no just a mommy on a shopping spree. hey Ive got two kiddies, doesnt that count?

the tower was constructed by jenalyn and eli supervised the construction. I would show you the wonderful artwork jenalyn made with her crayons but needless to say I had to scrub it off the t.v., patio door, walls and books... hee hee
