and funny thing, its almost half-way through December...
ok so november was such a wonderful blurr. for those that dont know I took a "mommy vacation" to NYC for the first time ever, to hang out with a bunch of wonderful mommies - for a fun break. it was so last minute for me, but I loved every second of it and I thank my loving husband who encouraged (insisted) that I take this well-needed break. thank you my dear!
then a week later I was off to texas to visit my family for thanksgiving. (I'll post all the little details on another post)
we've been back for a couple of weeks now, but it seems like I cant get back into the groove of things. its already mid-way to Christmas and we have a bare tree hanging out in our living room, no advent calendar nor wreath and gifts - well they should be "on the way". so, as you can see I let november slip by and sadly december is turning out to be the same... but Im determined to get back on the ball and into the spirit of Christmas - just as soon as I pour that 3pm cup of coffee!!

just to compare
ok last halloween post, I promise...
how is it that my 7 month old can wear the same costume as his big brother wore last year when he was 1.5 years old???
oh and did I tell ya, they now wear the same size diapers...short story version: eli had the stomach bug last week and we we're going through pull-ups like crazy, so we put him in baby's diapers and viola - they fit! size 3s!
but we just moved joshua luke to size 4 diapers and eli is in size 4 pull-ups... I just hope they can share the same size clothes soon - that would be great!

trick-or-treating 2010
so we got out the tail-end of trick-or-treating. we usually hit up the mall and we got there with 30 min. to spare before they closed (thanks to a much-needed nap by everyone). by the time we got there, most store we're out of candy - considering they do start at 11am - but that was ok, as long as we found a lollipop we were a-okay! we ran into our cousins and did a quick meet-up with a mommy friend. jenalyn was on a quest to find m&ms and lollipops but eli didnt want any of it - he didnt even want to wear his costume after 5 min. (and I searched the world for it too!) and thank you to my friend kristi and her mom for making jenalyn's bonnet and giving eli his mcqueen sweatshirt - it worked perfectly!
ok enough of my explaination of the day, b/c I know all you want to do is see the kiddies...here are my little bo peep, my lightening mcqueen and my little darth vadar!

I tried to match with my little bo peep - I tried, right?

Halloween festvities
I'll start with last friday at jenalyn's preschool. My little bo peep looked adorable and was all ready for the Halloween parade. she was fine for the first few parade circles - but after that, she was done and cried and cried til daddy was able to calm her down. she did fine trick-or-treating to the other classrooms and was ready to play on the playground.

once we got home it was time to paint our little pumpkins...

at one point mr. pumpkin head had another arm, ear, mouth and even a little pumpkin bucket - but who knows where that is now?...

pumpkin patch 2010
a few weeks back we all headed to my dear and I's alma mater for their pumpkin patch festivities... it was probably the closest thing to a real pumpkin patch out here so we decided to give it a whirl...
it was a great day to go, a bit overcast and cool air. jenalyn was so excited to see all the pumpkins and has been asking to go to the local city "patch" (aka - an empty lot, throw down some hay and neatly stack pumpkins everywhere) but we figured this would be better - ok so all it was was a HUGE field/hill with pumpkins covering the ground, it actually looked pretty cool. eli was a little tired and just wanted to sit and watch from the stroller, but after a while he figured he'll join his sis in "pumpkin rolling". it was a fun little outing although we didnt pick any pumpkins, perhaps tomorrow over at the city "patch".
joshua luke's 6 month well visit
ok so I took him in at nearly 7 months but heres his stats:
weight - 19lbs. 10 oz
length - 27.5
I think he's about 70-75%ile
he had 3 shots and that little drink one, he was fine til bedtime, and cried like Ive never heard him cry - gave him tylenol and he was fine after.
and I didnt get to take my usual 1/2 year "party" pics, I better get on that before his 1st birthday pics!

visits form grandma and grandpa!
grandma came to visit a couple months ago from texas (sorry these pics are late). it was a very short visit, but the kids had fun. see how they made her crawl into their little playhouse...and for the group shot, eli wasnt having it!

when grandpa came to visit last week, he was able to stay a bit longer. we did a lot of eating out and playing at the park. they had a blast!

too bad they couldnt come together - but no worries b/c we'll be visiting them at there house next month, eating turkey, playing with auntie and uncles, and baby liliana (oh and shopping too - right mom?)
sorry about the placement of pictures, I dont feel like fixing it...
