ok ok, I know its been a while...

and with the Christmas season in full swing, I have to do a quick recap of the end of November...

we went to the L.A. Zoo on Veteran's Day. the kiddies got to see all the animals they knew except for the elephant (it was closed). but they were'nt as excited as Id hope they would be. perhaps b/c all the animals do is stand there, although the monkeys were quite entertaining, so that was a plus. my dear and I felt as though we were there for hours on end, we were SOOO worn out and when I asked what time it was, he guess around 4:30pm before looking at his watch. ummm...nope. it was barely 2:30pm, and mind you we got there at 12:30pm! boy, oh boy are we getting old...so enjoy the pics

check out the new ticker...

so as you can see, Ive made a new ticker for my pregnancy...why, you ask? b/c yesterday I had the "big ultrasound" (ya know, the one that tells you boy or girl.) so can you tell? will jenalyn and eli have a baby brother or baby sister?

you guessed it...a little baby brother!

I cant believe Ive reached the half way mark already. I swear I was just announcing I was preggo, but apparently that was a while back. so here we are, half way there. oops, actually a little more than half. after the ultrasound the dr. said she'll move up my due date b/c based on this one and the last ultrasound Im about 21 weeks and a few days. so that makes it for sure (I cant phathom going any longer - Im huge!) 3 under 3! even the ultrasound tech said to be ready by mid-march...so let the boy names begin...

she's a BIG GIRL now!

so last friday we decided it was time to transition her to a big girl bed (a twin). we actually chickened out a couple weeks back b/c of a runny nose, but we did it finally and (knock on wood) it was a breeze...
we made sure to get her "princess" sheets and an extra tall and long toddler rail and she was good to go! once we set it up, she was SOOO excited. of course all her stuffed animals that stayed in her crib, now stay in her bed (with a few more added) she has a pillow and blanket which she keeps in the bed but doesnt use it properly. the first night, I was the anxious one, and had my dear go in and check on her at 5am - she was up, just hangin' out, so he went in and slept with her. naptime isnt a problem either - she'll still play for a while, get in and out of her bed, but she does stay in her room and will actually sleep on her bed opposed to the floor or loveseat in her room.

we plan to move eli into her room in the next few months and we're thinking he may be ready for a big boy bed by then too...we'll see.

for now, I cant believe shes growing up soooo fast. I mean a big girl bed, gosh I slept in a twin size bed until I got married...time is flying too fast!

huggin' the daylights out of her animals b/c shes so excited!

good and evil...

halloween was one full day of play, perhaps too much. we started the day with jenalyn's My Gym, then home to spruce up the sad looking apt. we headed over to meet baby cousin Chistian and hang out at the park. the kiddies napped in the car on the drive to the mall for trick-or-treating and, poor things, we had to wake them up before it got too dark. jenalyn was not a happy camper and was done by store number 5. she didnt even want to run around the grass area which she normally loves. so we called it a day and went home.
ok and without further ado...b/c I know you just wanna see pics...here's my sweet loving angel and my sweet loving darth vadar (b/c you know hubby would not go for a devil, but was all for darth vadar...hee hee!)

and a side note - jenalyn hated the halo and eli's "helmet" kept coming off but HE kept trying to put it back...

october crafts and activites

because my sis asked why I needed to go to home depot (the last place you'll find me), I told her Id post a pic and show her what else we do around here...

-those mickey mouse paint color cards (from home depot - not lowes!) are for a matching game the kiddies can play.
-I had a game of Little Einstein dominos - but cut them apart and made another matching game.
-we made felt pumpkin face cutouts so they can practice putting the face on properly.
-we attempted glue, yet again, with those spiders...ok so I did it all. they just colored it with chalk.
-and painting the wooden pumpkin cutouts, we only had q-tips as brushes, so that didnt last too long.

hmmm...on to think of what can I do for november?

downtown disney (and a pat on the back for me!)

saturday was unseasonably hot! so we thought we'd get away from the inland heat and head out closer to the shore, thinking it would be cooler...nope, still hot, but we love it. we headed over to Downtown Disney to walk around and hang out on the hotel grounds. the kiddies loved just being somewhere new, new things to see, new places to run. they loved "steering" the remote control boats, see "mickey and minnie",going to the lego store, but best of all...the waterfall! oh how jenalyn loved it - mainly because it was soooo loud and she could yell and scream and be loud too! we ended the day sippin' on jamba juice (eli had H2O) waving good-bye to all the new things we saw that day. "by-bye water, bye-bye tropical birds, bye-bye trees, bye-bye mc mouse..."

the pat on the back for me, you ask??? is it bad to be proud of oneself? well I am! only b/c you see that skirt jenalyn is wearing? Ive always wanted to get her a pettiskirt, but I wasnt about to spend $90-$100 on one...so I decided to make it. after doing much research on how to create this cute twirly thing, in which most of my finding were nothing but stories filled with horror, frustration and a project that can make one go crazy...I decided to take the plunge anyway. and Im glad I did. it wasnt too bad - time consuming: yes, lots of patience needed: yes, super cute: YES! it is by far not perfect, but trust me, Im already devising a plan to practice another one. now I just have to decide what color next...any suggestions?

apple pickin' BUT...

last weekend we went up to the orchards for some apple picking fun, I was so excited I even made jenalyn a apple-y top and hair clippie for the festivities (sorry eli, but that fabric wouldnt have been a good choice for you!), only to find out that the apples ran out! I was so bummed! but we had a good time anyway and we got to see a real pumpkin patch...a little too thorny for my liking, but now we can say we've seen one. (of course we'll pick our pumpkin at the local city "patch".)

maybe next year they'll have a better apple season...til then, enjoy the pics!
